Jim Delver

Northport, AL
Biblical Counselor

Jim has been involved in the medical field as a Radiation Therapist since 1990 and has treated thousands of patients with radiation in the hope of curing their cancer. This gave him the opportunity to walk closely with people enduring destructive stages of a disease which would often catapult them into the throes of depression, grief and anxiety. The Lord used this experience to sensitize his heart to the afflictions of others, and yet it often left him longing to do more to lighten the sufferings of the whole person.

Radiation can kill cancer cells, but against the maladies of the soul, man-made cures have proven to have a short half life and ultimately fail us.

What we desperately long for are words like this from Proverbs 4:20-22 "my son, give attention to my words....for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh."

When coupled with a believing heart, God's Word will begin to disrupt the roots of the sins which lead to our human misery. He will transform us into the people we were designed to be!

He will use His "precious and very great promises" (II Pet. 1:4) to do a complete makeover on our character, making us more like Jesus in the meantime.

Let this thought linger with you today. "The Father and the Spirit are working in me in real time, so that I more and more and resemble the beautiful person of the Lord Jesus" (Romans 8:29)

In addition to holding national certificates in Diagnostic Radiography, MRI, Radiation Therapy, and Medical Dosimetry, Jim completed his Bachelor of Business Administration in 2000.

Jim completed his level 1 certification for the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC) in 2020, and his level 2 certification in 2023.

Jim completed Systematic Theology training at Trinity Baptist Church in Chickasha, Oklahoma in 2011 where he served as a teaching elder from 2012-2017.

Jim completed Systematic Theology training at Grace Hewitt Church in Hewitt, Texas in 2018 where he served as a teaching elder from 2019-to 2022.
